Welcome to the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary

We are located in Bloomfield, Connecticut on 80 acres of woodland three miles north of Hartford. Our facility which opened in 1930 as St. Thomas Seminary, is now available to groups involved in religious, ecumenical, educational or charitable missions. We offer over 22,000 square feet of retreat and conference rooms, 80 dormitory style guest rooms, catering and conference services and recreational facilities.

Our beautiful gothic style main chapel has the distinction of being one of the most prestigious in the state. The priceless stained glass windows from Great Britain depict a dozen scenes from Scripture. With a capacity of 400, the chapel is most conducive to any liturgical service.

The Archbishop O'Brien Library is located at the facility. The library has 25,000 volumes including texts of 15th through 19th century Catholic Americana and history. We also feature the Catholic Book Store & Gift Shop.

Our location is central to all points in Connecticut and New England. We are a short 20 minute drive to Bradley International Airport and 10 minutes from the Union Station rail and bus terminal in Hartford. We are easily accessible from Interstates 91 and 84. Our location is close to great dining, shopping and entertainment venues throughout greater Hartford.
